BBRO Demonstration Days 2018 | The sun was shining for Sugar Beet
To continue our commitment to British Farming, Germains attended this year’s British Beet Research Organisation’s (BBRO) Demonstration Days at Swanton Morley and Bracebridge Heath on the 3rd and 5th July.
Germains Innovation Plots
This year’s innovation area focused on the results from Germains’ new product Xbeet® enrich 100 which demonstrates on average a 4.3% yield increase from strip trials and 1.3% increase from small plot trials, both are independently run UK trials.
A poster explaining our trials process was on display across the two demonstration days to shows how Xbeet® enrich 100 provides plants with the best possible start to produce a healthy crop.
Alongside this members of our Research & Development and Quality departments were on hand to explain the range of new seed technologies that are being developed to constantly improve emergence and yield of sugar beet.

Testing your Knowledge
Our commercial stand provided opportunities for growers to learn more about the journey of the sugar beet seed through our Priming, Pelleting and Filmcoating processes. This new-found knowledge was then put to the test with our Germains quiz which allowed growers to collect BASIS and NRoSO point along with some exciting merchandise.

Our Youngest Supporter
During the BBRO Demonstration Day at Bracebridge Heath we were lucky enough to receive a special visit from our new Managing Director Victoria Lawrence and her 3-month-old son. The provided a great opportunity for Victoria to see first-hand the links between our technologies and the wider sugar beet industry.

Our youngest supporter
We would like to thank all the growers who came out to support us at both Swanton Morley and Bracebridge Heath especially as it was almost 30ºc in the field and we look forward to next year!
