Organic Agriculture Events of 2017-2018
Representatives from Germains have been busy this winter season attending and exhibiting at organic agriculture events where we have been able to promote our organic seed treatments and network industry representatives. As a leading provider of organic seed treatments, we believe it is vital to attend and or sponsor events that support the organic agriculture industry.
This year, Germains sponsored and attended the inaugural Organic Produce Summit, 9th Organic Seed Growers Conference, and California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF) Annual Meeting and Conference. We believe that by actively engaging in these events keeps us informed of the current trends in the industry, expands our network of contacts, and gives us the opportunity to discover problems that growers are experiencing in the field that we may resolve with new seed treatment technologies. Our exhibit displays included samples of our organic seed pellets and literature about the variety of organic seed treatments Germains has to offer.

Organic Growers Summit
In December of 2017; Germains sponsored and exhibited at the first inaugural Organic Grower Summit conference hosted by CCOF and the Organic Produce Network. Over 500 commercial organic growers from all over North America and Mexico attended the event. As an exhibitor, we had the opportunity to educate large-scale growers about the benefits of our ProBio® organic seed treatment product line. The objective of the event is to connect organic growers and producers with supply chain and service providers who can support their business needs. With the overwhelming success of the event and positive feedback from those who attended, the event will be relocating to the Monterey Convention Center so that they may host 90 exhibitors and over 1,000 attendees.
9th Organic Seed Growers Conference
Large-scale commercial organic vegetable producers continue to struggle with sourcing a consistent and affordable supply of organically produced seed. Due to the limited supply of organically produced seed, organic growers often have to use conventionally produced seed treated with organic seed treatments that are cultivated with organic growing methods. The Organic Seed Alliance (OSA) is a 501(c) (3) who envisions organic seed systems that are democratic and just, support human and environmental health, and deliver genetically diverse and regionally adapted seed to farmers everywhere. This year OSA hosted its 9th Organic Seed Growers Conference in Corvallis, Oregon. The bi-annual conference is the largest event focused solely on organic seed in North America drawing more than 600 participants from 31 states, nine countries, and eight universities. As an event exhibitor, Germains had the opportunity to share information about the benefits of organic seed treatments and how they may help improve seed production.
CCOF Annual Meeting and Conference
CCOF’s Annual Meeting and Conference is an educational conference that brings the organic community together to share resources, network with fellow stakeholders, and find ways to grow your business. Leaders in rural development, education, policy development, and agriculture technology shared their insights on the current trends and challenges faced by the organic industry.
Whether we participate as an exhibitor or as an attendee, having a presence and contributing to events such provide us with valuable information about the organic agriculture industry and the trends that will impact how we do business today and into the future.
