Germains Educates the Next Generation of Farmers | School Farm and Country Fair at Trinity Park

On the 20th April, Germains attended the 2017 School Farm and Country Fair at Trinity Park, Ipswich. Each year this event is organised by the Suffolk Agricultural Associate and this year’s event hosted over 4,500 school children between the ages of 7 and 9 from the region.

The day is designed to educate children on the importance of agriculture within the Suffolk and neighbouring regions, whilst linking it to core subjects of the National Curriculum, such as Math, Science, English, History and Geography. Germains’ interactive exhibit encouraged children to discover how our magic seed technology helps vegetable, sugar beet and flower species grow. This involved an opportunity to help the Germains team and learn how to detect healthy plants in our germination test and become a Germains superhero!

There were a number of other interactive activities for the children to engage in, including an opportunity to sit inside an Air Ambulance and try some local food produced in the area. There was also an exciting sheep shearing demonstration to watch!
