From the 10th to 13th October, Germains attended the European Seed Association (ESA) annual meeting in Vienna, Austria. For Germains, the meeting was a great opportunity to support ESA. Germains has a long relationship with ESA, receiving its first UK European Seed Treatment Assurance (ESTA) accreditation in 2013, and most recently for the facility in Aalten, in August 2015.

Dr. Gerard Mulqueen, European Business Director, sat down with Issues Ink. publisher of European Seed Magazine to explore challenges and opportunities within the industry and to discuss exciting, new developments of the company, including the opening of our new fundamental research laboratory at Norwich Research Park, UK.

The meeting included an announcement from ESA of a voluntary financial contribution of €300,000 to the FAO International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resource. This is a valuable investment that will support the breeding for food and agriculture.

We would like to thank ESA for holding this meeting and look forward to the next congress in Rome 2016!
