Germains Supports BBRO Drill Operator Training

Germains are proud to be sponsoring this year’s BBRO (British Beet Research Organisation) Drill Operator Training Days. There are two sessions available for Sugar Beet drill operators and contractors on Tuesday 30th in Bexwell, Downham Market and Wednesday 31st January in Riseholme, Lincolnshire. The days are a great opportunity to learn more about various drill manufacturers, best drilling practice and seed handling and storage.

About the BBRO Drill Operator Training Days

Now in its third year, the training covers several key topics that promote strong establishment, healthier plants and ultimately improve end crop yield. This year’s course will focus on the following areas:

  • Practical soil management
  • Cultivation techniques for the perfect seed bed
  • Seed technology
  • Drill maintenance for optimum performance

Drill manufacturers Kverneland, Monosem and Vaderstad will be supporting the sessions, providing an update on the latest technological developments and effective drill maintenance.

Germains Supports Best Practice

The Germains UK Sugar Beet Team will be in attendance on both days discussing the importance of its pelleting technology in precision drilling, seed handling and storage advice. Appreciating the role of seed quality in drilling, there will also be a focus on the unique and quality-driven journey that the sugar beet seed follows through Germains’ factories.
