2017 BBRO Success
On the 4th and 6th July, Germains attended the 2017 British Beet Research Organisation’s (BBRO) Demonstration Days at Bracebridge Heath and Morley. Passionate about backing British farming, the days were a fantastic opportunity for Germains to showcase new products in the development pipeline to further support UK sugar beet yield.
Innovation Plots at the BBRO
This year’s innovation area focussed on the emergence and yield data of a variety of new seed technologies that are being developed exclusively for the UK market. There was also a presentation of the value of primed seedlings compared to unprimed seedlings in early emergence alongside a poster explaining the benefits.
This included results from Germains’ new product Xbeet® enrich 100, demonstrating on average a 1.3% increase of yield from independent UK trials.

Getting to Know Germains
It was great to see so many growers over at the Germains commercial stand, taking the opportunity to learn more about the journey of the sugar beet seed through Priming, Pelleting and Filmcoating production.
This new found knowledge was then tested with a Germains quiz to collect BASIS and NRoSO points, as well as the opportunity to win some useful merchandise!
We would like to thank all to the growers who came out to support us at both Bracebridge Heath and Morley and look forwards to next year!
If you would like any further information on any of the new products, please contact our UK sugar beet team at UKSugarBeet@germains.com.
