Exilis is a seed hygiene process that removes or reduces seed-borne contaminants from Swiss chard, red beet, celery, and multiple brassica species.
Species availability:
Broccoli, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Red Beet, Swiss Chard
Preferred by organic growers producing carrots, onions, and turnips, Oxykote is a tan, heavy, split pellet offering excellent plantability and uniform placement.
Species availability:
Carrot, Leek, Onion, Salad / Bunching Onion, Turnip
Oxylight is a lightweight, high-quality seed pellet.
Species availability:
Fennel, Tomatoes
Oxymelt is a seed pellet that improves the handling and plantability of a small seed. The pellet melts away from the seed rapidly upon contact with moisture, giving the seed access to oxygen and light. This is beneficial for the quick germination of sensitive seeds.
Species availability:
Flowers, Tobacco
Oxypil is an easy-to-handle split pellet for cultivating crops in protected greenhouse environments.
Species availability:
Broccoli, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Celery, Endive, Fennel, Green Hearted Chicory, Leek, Lettuce, Treviso, Turnip
Polycote is a precision application of fungicides, insecticides, and other beneficial microorganisms, often adding a coloured layer to the seed. This also enables improved handling and produces dust-free, cosmetically pleasing seed.
Species availability:
Broccoli, Cabbage, Carrot, Cauliflower, Chard, Coriander, Corn Salad, Courgette, Cucumber, Eggplant, Endive, Gherkin, Kale, Leek, Lettuce, Melon, Onion, Parsley, Parsnip, Pepper, Pumpkin, Radish, Red Beet, Salad / Bunching Onion, Spinach, Sweet Pepper, Tomatoes, Turnip, Watermelon, Wild Rocket
Procoat is a minimum build-up pellet/encrustment used for precision planting in open field crops.
Species availability:
Carrot, Onion, Parsnip, Tomatoes, Wild Rocket
Prodrill direct is a field pellet that allows the seed to be directly drilled using precision planters. The pellet also enables the seed to be tolerant of adverse field conditions that would otherwise affect the seed.
Species availability:
Lettuce
Propell is a lightweight field pellet that splits rapidly and neatly when placed in moist growing conditions, allowing access to the seed for oxygen and light uptake for germination. The pellet is designed for direct-drilled crops and is precisely graded to improve the seed’s singulation and plantability.
Species availability:
Leek, Lettuce, Onion, Salad / Bunching Onion
Propill is a seed pellet for plant raiser use.
Species availability:
Celery, Endive, Fennel, Lettuce
Propill select is a plant raiser pellet that is suitable for transplant production in trays and peat blocks.
Species availability:
Celery, Radicchio
Developed with zero chemical pesticides, Spinach goseed is a nutrient-rich coating technology combined with bio-stimulants, formulated for use on spinach to help plants better cope with abiotic stress.
Spinach goseed focuses on boosting early plant nutrition during the plant emergence and young plant growth stage, ensuring its success in variable growing conditions.
Promotes plant emergence
Enhances plant health to minimise impact of abiotic stress
Contains bio-stimulants + micronutrients for improved early crop growth
Maximises crop performance to increase yield
Supporting the seed through germination, emergence and its first few days of growth is vital in establishing a healthy plant stand. Achieving a good plant stand reduces seed investment loss for growers and is critical for maximising Spinach crop yield. Trials were conducted to look at the performance of Germains Spinach goseed against un-treated Spinach seeds.
Nine different seed varieties were used, at three trial locations, with crops being planted weekly from July through to September. The growing season across all three sites was generally wetter and colder than normal regional conditions with average temperatures as low as 15 degrees Celsius during September and rainfall reaching up to 98mm in one month. Where the conditions were wetter, the biggest improvements in emergence, plant stand, and final yield were observed.
Trials showed that using Spinach goseed could significantly reduce crop losses from abiotic stress during the early plant growth stage. Trials also showed that this could have a direct impact on final crop yields.
Germains’ goal is to deliver innovative seed enhancement technologies that help maximise nature’s potential. This goal has never been more important. Today Spinach growers are challenged with producing more from less, achieving even greater yields, with fewer chemicals, in ever more challenging growing conditions. The EU directive deadline to reduce the overall use of more hazardous pesticides by 50% by 2030 seems a long way off, but the change needs to start today. We need to embrace the next generation of seed technology which will combine carefully selected nutrients with bio-stimulants and other micro-ingredients to deliver more natural support to plants.

We are proud to offer our new and improved product in the Xbeet® enrich series. Using cutting-edge seed technology, Xbeet® enrich200 promotes early plant growth and crop development. Independent verified testing* shows that Xbeet® enrich200outperforms its market-leading predecessor Xbeet® enrich100.
Xbeet® enrich200 helps young plants reach the critical 12-leaf stage as quickly as possible. This ensures sugar beets have the natural defences needed to cope with later stressors, such as suboptimal environments and unpredictable weather conditions.
Xbeet® enrich200 includes all the effective ingredients of Xbeet® enrich100, with the added benefit of an innovative plant-derived biostimulant. In combination with the elicitor, this boosts early plant growth, helping crops deal with pressures of pest, diseases and competitive weed situations.
Biostimulants are defined as “materials, other than fertilisers, that promote plant growth when applied in small quantities”. Using a biostimulant has been proven to boost early growth, helping plants during the most vulnerable stage of development.
Uses biostimulants for improved early crop growth
Increases the promotion of plant emergence
Further enhances uniformity of canopy cover
Helps deliver more consistent, higher-yielding crops
Trialled and tested for UK climate
Independently verified results
Xbeet® enrich200 has shown an increase in plant weight, demonstrating the impact of biostimulant in boosting early plant growth (graph 3). This has direct influence on the final sugar yields and profits.
Small plot trials have shown an average yield benefit of 1.4% over Xbeet® enrich100 during 3 years of trials.
This yield increase results in an additional yield of 1.1 tonnes per hectare.
Strip trial data from 2018 highlighted an average of 2.5% increase in yield (graph 4) across three trial sites.
This yield increase resulted in 1.9 additional tonnes per hectare.
