Dense canopy growth to protect jalapenos from sunscaldFilmcoat elite for Jalapeno

Commercial growers in Mexico are using Filmcoat elite to boost fresh market jalapeno plant vigor and canopy growth. This dense foliage protects the fruit from sunscald, leading to a more harvestable yield. Compared to seed treated with only thiram, trial data suggests that the jalapenos treated with nutrient rich filmcoat combined with thiram developed more roots, stronger plant structure, heavier plant weight, and more setting fruit. Trial data also reports that the crops experienced a continued onset of flowers after the first harvest providing additional harvest opportunities. Download Case Study

Clean seed, pure & simple.

Gopure is a conventional seed disinfection treatment that uses a combination of processes and/or crop protection products that inhibit the growth of seed-borne pathogens, such as Pseudomonas spp. and Xanthomonas. Customizable to meet your field challenge, stack gopure with conventional fungicides for added protection from soil-borne pathogens. Also available for organic production.

Key benefits

Reduces pathogens to nearly undetectable levels post-treatment

Protects future crop rotations by reducing the transfer of pathogenic organisms into the field

Improves seed and seedling health, helping to optimize yield

Causes little to no impact on germination or shelf life

Yield is a primary focus when developing seed technologies. However, potential yield increases may be compromised without clean and healthy seeds. Seed-borne diseases are a significant issue that costs the seed industry and vegetable growers significant yearly revenue loss. Contact us to learn more about our seed disinfection services.

Carrot overview

Bacterial leaf blight, otherwise known as Xanthomonas campestris pv. carotae, is a concern to carrot seed producers and growers in many regions of the world. The bacterium can survive on or in a carrot seed, spreading via the seed’s movement through the supply chain into the field. Planting healthy, clean seed is an essential first step for effectively managing bacterial leaf blight.

Carrot trial data

Tested on five carrot varieties, independent lab results conclude gopure is an effective solution for removing Xanthomonas from carrot seed without impacting germination or shelf life.

Minimize stress, maximize performance.

The early stages of any living organism are vital to future growth and development. Germains has developed a technology that focuses on early plant nutrition, even before the plant emerges, ensuring its success in variable growing conditions. Goseed maximizes the potential nutrient uptake of the seedling, offering many benefits to both the plant and the grower.

Upgraded pellet to improve seedling vigor.

Propellet elite is a targeted, precise approach for enhancing seed genetics for optimal seedling establishment. By adding essential micronutrients to the pellet, the seed’s radical begins to absorb nutrients as soon as it emerges, helping to strengthen the seedling root and foliage mass to withstand the field transplant process. This conventional seed pellet enables some growers to bypass transplanting and direct sow into the field to reduce transplant costs.

Key benefits

Uniform seed size for precision planting

Promotes vigorous canopy development

Nutrients to support early root development

Aids early plant development so seedlings withstand transport and field transplanting

Improves stand counts to increase yield potential

Improve seedling vigor in the greenhouse or field

Since 2014, propellet elite has continued to aid the successful establishment of thousands of acres of celery annually. Due to grower recognition of its beneficial properties and the need for cost-effective solutions to enhance seed performance in the greenhouse and in the field, the elite seed technology is available as a pellet or filmcoat for carrots, jalapenos, and tomatillos.

ProPellet elite Trial Data, seed pellet with beneficial micronutrients.

Propellet® elite is an innovative seed pellet solution to a grower’s problem.

Propellet elite product development began with a single customer inquiry. A commercial celery grower was experiencing crop loss when transporting seedlings from the greenhouse to the field. The customer contacted Germains to see if a seed technology could be developed to improve celery seedling vigor and root mass for transplanting. Based on the grower’s circumstances, Germains’ Research and Development team customized an existing seed pellet by combining it with beneficial health products that deliver stronger roots and canopy vigor to improve the crop’s overall performance from transplant to harvest.
